AVENGERS: DOOMSDAY Directors Start New #FearDoom Campaign and Rumor Claims Teasers Are a Misdirect
The Russo Brothers officially released the second teaser trailer for Avengers: Doomsday this week, confirming the leaked footage fans were previewed last week.
It confirms Thor’s return, with a much more solemn storyline than his last couple appearances in the MCU. Aside from the footage in the trailer, the directors captioned the teaser in an Instagram post, “When even a god has to pray for strength… #FearDoom”.
This seems to set the tone for the dark and treacherous battle the Avengers have ahead of them. But there are a couple of rumors swirling around these first teasers that give us an interesting lens to look at them through.
One is that these trailers are made with footage that will not be featured in the films, and are just meant to give us a glimpse into what these characters have been up to between their last appearances and Doomsday.
Another rumor from The Cosmic Circus' Alex Perez claims that "there are alterations, digital removals or misdirects in all of the trailers that have been released/leaked thus far."
I would honestly love a little cloak and dagger from the studio! I have been kind of bummed out about the spoilers that have surfaced so far, and it would be fun to have a few surprises left when we see this movie in the theatre.
Avengers: Doomsday is set to be released in theaters on December 18, 2026. Check out the Russo Brothers’ post below, and get ready to #FearDoom.
