AVENGERS: DOOMSDAY Merch Shows Comic-Accurate Costumes For The X-Men And More
A first look at the characters of Avengers: Doomsday has surfaced online, and it teases a look at the chareacter’s comic-accurate costumes, especially when it comes to the X-Men.
The reveal comes from artwork featured on crew merchandise after the movie wrapped filming. The image lines up the confirmed characters in full gear, offering a sneak peek at what’s coming.
From left to right, the art shows Robert Downey Jr. as Doctor Doom, Pedro Pascal as Reed Richards, Sebastian Stan as Bucky Barnes, Florence Pugh as Yelena, Ian McKellen as Magneto, Kelsey Grammer as Beast, Hannah John-Kamen as Ghost, Chris Hemsworth as Thor, and Vanessa Kirby as Sue Storm.
There’a also Letitia Wright as Shuri, David Harbour as Red Guardian, Patrick Stewart as Professor X, James Marsden as Cyclops, Danny Ramirez as Joaquin Torres, Anthony Mackie as Captain America, Ebon Moss-Bachrach as Ben Grimm, and Simu Liu as Shang-Chi.
It also features Winston Duke as M’Baku, Channing Tatum as Gambit, Alan Cumming as Nightcrawler, Lewis Pullman as Sentry, Paul Rudd as Ant-Man, Joseph Quinn as Johnny Storm, Tom Hiddleston as Loki, Tenoch Huerta as Namor, Rebecca Romijn as Mystique, Wyatt Russell as John Walker, and one mystery character.
That mystery role is already fueling speculation. Some believe it could be an older Franklin Richards, which would tie directly into the Fantastic Four post-credits scene that teased Doctor Doom appearing in the Baxter Building for Franklin. Others think it could be Valeria Richards, who hasn’t made her MCU debut yet but plays a major role in the comics.
Thor seems to be back to his Infinity War look with short hair and a darker suit, while Reed Richards is wearing a lab coat over his Fantastic Four uniform. Shuri’s Black Panther suit keeps the black and gold details from Wakanda Forever, and Namor is now in a black and blue outfit that matches his comic counterpart’s bodysuit.
Loki’s gold horns are back, linking him to where we last saw him in Loki Season 2 as part of Yggdrasil, though his costume looks unchanged otherwise.
The X-Men costumes stand out as the most comic-faithful. Cyclops, Beast, Gambit, and Nightcrawler all look like they’ve been lifted straight from the page, while Magneto appears to have long hair brushing his shoulders in the artwork. Sentry also returns in his gold costume, suggesting his powers, and the dangerous Void, will be a key part of the story.
Details about the plot remain under wraps, but Alan Cumming has teased that the X-Men and Fantastic Four may clash. The Russo brothers also shared a blurry early look from set that hinted at Reed’s chalkboard, but nothing concrete has been revealed.
Avengers: Doomsday arrives in theaters on December 18, 2026.
