AVENGERS: DOOMSDAY Report Reveals the Name of Steve Rogers and Peggy Carter’s Son
Marvel Studios looks like it’s about to tug hard on fans’ heartstrings with Avengers: Doomsday, and a new report may have finally cracked one of the project’s most emotional mysteries.
A fresh scoop claims to reveal the identity of Steve Rogers and Peggy Carter’s son, and it adds a personal layer to Captain America’s long legacy.
It’s already been confirmed that Steve and Peggy had a child together. Marvel revealed it in the first teaser trailer for the film, but stopped short of giving fans a name or any real context.
That gap has now been filled thanks to scooper MyTimeToShineHello, who shared the reveal on X. The insider wrote, “Steve Rogers and Peggy’s son is named James/Jim – it’s him!”
James isn’t random as it directly connects back to Bucky Barnes, Steve’s closest friend, whose real first name is James. If this report is accurate, it suggests Steve honored the person who stood by him through everything, even when the world fell apart.
There’s also some Marvel history with the name. A character named James Rogers previously appeared in the animated film Next Avengers: Heroes of Tomorrow as the son of Captain America and Black Widow. While the MCU version clearly takes a different path, Marvel borrowing the name makes sense.
The story behind how Steve, Peggy, and their son exist at all is where things get properly wild. After the events of Avengers: Endgame but before the conclusion of Loki Season 2, Loki reportedly discovered Steve living outside of time with Peggy and their child.
According to the report, Loki warned Steve that the TVA would erase their entire timeline since Steve was never meant to stay in the past.
Rather than let that happen, Loki made a massive move. He secretly relocated the Rogers family to the Fantastic Four’s universe, known as Earth-828. That decision gave Steve and Peggy a chance to actually live the life they fought so hard to earn, even if it came at the cost of being cut off from their original reality.
Years later, during the events of Avengers: Doomsday, Doctor Doom finds them and brings some bad news about incoming multiversal incursions. That encounter pushes Steve back into action, sending him to Earth-616 alongside the Fantastic Four and Doom himself.
There’s also a small but telling production detail that adds some extra flavor. Reports mention a scene filmed in a baseball stadium featuring Steve and his son, hinting at what life looked like for them in this alternate universe.
Directed by the Russo Bros., the film is set to hit theaters on December 18, 2026, and it’ll be interesting to see if any of these rumors turn out to be true.
