AVENGERS: DOOMSDAY Rumor Points To Major Devestating Loss in The Marvel Movie
The hype around Avengers: Doomsday is ramping up, and with it comes a wild new rumor that’s got Marvel fans doing double takes. As the Marvel Cinematic Universe gears up for one of its biggest chapters yet, talk of massive stakes tied to Doctor Doom is already expected. But this latest report? It takes things to a whole different level.
Possible spoilers ahead!
Directed by Anthony Russo and Joe Russo, and produced alongside Marvel Studios under their AGBO banner, the film is already positioned as a major turning point. Now, insiders are hinting that it could also be one of the most devastating.
A recent post from The Beyond Reporter on X suggests that “a New Avenger” will be “permanently” killed off in the movie. That alone would be enough to spark debate, but things escalated quickly when well-known scooper MyTimeToShineHello jumped into the conversation with a much more extreme claim:
“I got news for you EVERYONE’s gonna die in this movie. EVERYONE.”
Yeah… that’s not exactly subtle.
Before anyone starts panicking about the fate of their favorite heroes, it’s worth remembering that this is still just a rumor from unofficial sources.
Still, it’s the kind of rumor that doesn’t feel completely out of left field. Marvel has pulled something similar before with Avengers: Infinity War, where Thanos wiped out a huge chunk of the MCU roster, only for things to be reversed later in Avengers: Endgame.
So if Doomsday does go down this path, it wouldn’t be unfamiliar territory. The difference is that this time, Doctor Doom is expected to be at the center of it all, which will bring a very different kind of chaos.
Marvel is also laying groundwork in an interesting way. Avengers: Endgame is heading back to theaters on September 25, and it won’t just be a simple re-release. Disney confirmed during CinemaCon that new footage will be included, and it’s directly tied to Doomsday.
Joe Russo shed some light on that while speaking at the Sands Film Festival in St Andrews, Scotland, saying:
“It’s critically important to re-release the movie, and, in fact, we’ll be re-releasing the film with footage that is set in the Doomsday story that we have added to Avengers: Endgame.”
He also explained that this updated version is meant to connect the dots between the two films “in a very unique way,” describing it as a “critical companion story” that sets the stage for what’s coming next.
On top of that, there are reports that Doomsday itself will include a post-credits scene teasing the future of the MCU, which feels pretty fitting if the movie really does go as hard as these rumors suggest.
Whether or not “everyone dies” turns out to be true, one thing is clear: Marvel is aiming big with this one and we do know a lot of characters will die.
We’ll find out just how far Marvel is willing to go when the film hits theaters on December 18, 2026. Until then, maybe don’t get too attached to anyone.
