AVENGERS: DOOMSDAY Rumor Teases Thor’s Valhalla Army and the Possible Return of Fallen MCU Heroes
Another day, another wild rumor surrounding Avengers: Doomsday, and this one zeroes in on the God of Thunder himself.
After that teaser trailer featuring Thor on his knees, fans have been speculating about what it all means. Now a new report may have cracked the door open on what comes next for Thor and who might be stepping back into the MCU spotlight.
In the Avengers: Doomsday teaser, Chris Hemsworth’s Thor is seen praying to the Allfather, asking for the strength to defeat one more enemy so he can make it back home to his daughter, Love.
It’s a surprisingly vulnerable moment for the character, especially after everything he’s endured since Infinity War. The loss, the guilt, the rebuilding, and finally finding something worth fighting for beyond glory.
According to insider MTTSH, Odin actually answers. The scooper claims that Thor won’t be walking into battle against Doctor Doom alone. Instead, Odin sends him reinforcements straight from Valhalla, and not just anonymous warriors.
"The army Thor gets from Odin comes to him from Valhalla, so get ready to see old characters back."
That’s where things get really interesting.
Thor has lost a long list of allies over the years with Heimdall, The Warriors Three, Jane Foster, Valkerie, and more. If this rumor holds up, Valhalla could open the door for some powerful and emotional cameos.
It wouldn’t be shocking to see Idris Elba return as Heimdall or Natalie Portman reprise Jane Foster, even if it’s for a brief but meaningful appearance. Bringing fallen heroes back for one last ride would hit hard, especially with Thor fighting to return to Love.
It also raises the question of how this “army” functions in the story. Are they bound to a single battle? Are they spectral warriors summoned for one final stand? It almost sounds like a mythic last-charge scenario, something epic and tragic at the same time.
Thor leading the warriors of Valhalla against Doom’s forces is the kind of large-scale, cosmic insanity this movie seems to be aiming for.
And speaking of Doom, there’s another piece of this rumor that adds even more weight to the stakes.
MTTSH followed up on an earlier claim that Doctor Doom wipes out everyone in the TVA, including Loki. If true, that’s a brutal move that would shake the Multiverse Saga to its core.
Loki’s fate has been up in the air since the events of Loki Season 2, and this would be one hell of a way to clear the board before Avengers: Secret Wars.
Of course, all of this should be taken with the usual grain of salt, but the pieces do line up thematically. Thor searching for redemption. Doom reshaping reality. Fallen heroes returning for one final battle. It feels mythic in the right way for Marvel.
We’ll have to wait a bit longer to see how it all unfolds. Avengers: Doomsday is currently set to hit theaters on December 18, 2026, with Avengers: Secret Wars following on December 17, 2027.
