AVENGERS: DOOMSDAY Teaser Trailer Featuring Steve Rogers Officially Released
Marvel Studios has finally pulled the trigger and officially released the first teaser trailer for Avengers: Doomsday. This is the one featurting the return of Steve Rogers, the one the leaked awhile ago.
This moment should’ve felt huge and celebratory, but after weeks of leaks floating around online, this trailer lands with a thud. The rollout is frustrating. This was supposed to be one of those jaw-drop moments that lights up the internet and fandom.
Instead, it became Marvel’s worst kept secret thanks to the endless trailer leak cycle. They should’ve just officially released the footage weeks ago and owned the moment.
The teaser centers on Chris Evans returning as Steve Rogers, something that had been heavily rumored but never officially confirmed until now. Rogers is shown happily married with a child, suggesting that his post-Endgame life wasn’t just peaceful but permanent.
It’s an interesting image that immediately raises questions about how he’s pulled back into the chaos and what role he’ll play in a multiverse already on the brink. Chances are this is going ot be a Nomad thing.
Avengers: Doomsday is being directed by Joe Russo and Anthony Russo, marking their full return to the MCU after Avengers: Endgame. The brothers are also set to direct the follow-up, Avengers: Secret Wars, which is already positioned as the next massive crossover event.
Beyond Evans’ return, the cast list is massive. Robert Downey Jr. is confirmed, alongside Chris Hemsworth as Thor and Anthony Mackie as Sam Wilson’s Captain America. The film also brings in Marvel’s first family with Vanessa Kirby as Sue Storm, Ebon Moss-Bachrach as Ben Grimm, Joseph Quinn as Johnny Storm, and Pedro Pascal as Reed Richards. On top of that, you’ve got Sebastian Stan, Letitia Wright, Paul Rudd, Florence Pugh, Simu Liu, Tenoch Huerta Mejía, Tom Hiddleston, and Winston Duke, just to name a few.
Things get even wilder with the X-Men lineup. Patrick Stewart returns as Professor X, Ian McKellen is back as Magneto, and they’re joined by Alan Cumming, Rebecca Romijn, James Marsden, and Channing Tatum as Gambit. The trailer doesn’t fully reveal how these characters collide, but the implication is clear. This isn’t just an Avengers movie. It’s an all-hands-on-deck MCU event.
Marvel Studios has locked in a December 18, 2026 release date for Avengers: Doomsday. Production on Avengers: Secret Wars is expected to begin in 2026, with that sequel hitting theaters on December 17, 2027.
