AVENGERS: DOOMSDAY’s Fourth Teaser Trailer Will Reportedly Shift Focus to Shuri and Ben Grimm
Marvel Studios is getting ready to roll out the fourth and final teaser trailer for Avengers: Doomsday, and while fans have been holding out hope for a proper reveal of Doctor Doom, which has been previously rumored, new details suggest this final sneak peek will zero in on an unexpected duo with Shuri and Ben Grimm.
Leading into the holiday season, reports made it clear that this last teaser would once again play exclusively in theaters ahead of Avatar: Fire and Ash screenings.
The big takeaway was that it would center on the Fantastic Four and Wakanda, setting it apart from the earlier teasers that leaned on Steve Rogers nostalgia and Thor’s renewed sense of seriousness. What wasn’t clear was which characters would take center stage.
Now, insider @MyTimeToShineH claims the focus has shifted in a very specific direction, saying, "The [fourth] teaser for Doomsday will now have Shuri and Ben Grimm. The Doom-focused teaser is no more."
So, it sounds like Marvel was planning to release a Doctor Doom teaser, but changed their mind for some reason. I guess they just want to keep that aspect of the film underwraps for a little longer.
Outside of a bit of promo art and a brief, from-behind tease in The Fantastic Four: First Steps post-credits scene, Robert Downey Jr.’s Doom remains mostly a mystery.
Pairing Shuri with Ben Grimm is intestingh and it isn’t something that fans saw coming, but it does hint at a larger story move. This teaser is also expected to feel very different from the upcoming X-Men focused preview, reinforcing the idea that Marvel is carving out distinct tones for each corner of this massive crossover.
Shuri actor Letitia Wright recently spoke about where things stand behind the scenes when asked about Ryan Coogler’s Black Panther 3. She didn’t give much away, but her comments did offer a glimpse into the production timeline.
Wright said, "I have no clue. All I know is that we just finished Secret Wars, and that was really great. Doomsday, sorry. I confuse the two. I confused the two. That's what I have to film next, Secret Wars. But Doomsday, we finished that, and that was very great."
Wright also talked about how much the role still means to her, calling it "an honor" to carry the Black Panther mantle and adding, "I'm excited for the growth of Shuri to be seen in these next few films."
Avengers: Doomsday features a massive ensemble that includes Chris Hemsworth, Anthony Mackie, Winston Duke, Tom Hiddleston, Sebastian Stan, Letitia Wright, Paul Rudd, and Robert Downey Jr. New faces to the Avengers lineup include Wyatt Russell, Simu Liu, Tenoch Huerta Mejia, Florence Pugh, Danny Ramirez, David Harbour, Hannah John-Kamen, and Lewis Pullman.
The Fantastic Four character played by Pedro Pascal, Vanessa Kirby, Ebon Moss-Bachrach, and Joseph Quinn have also joined the fray. The film also pulls in major players from the X-Men universe, including Kelsey Grammer, Patrick Stewart, Ian McKellen, Alan Cumming, Rebecca Romijn, and James Marsden, along with Deadpool & Wolverine star Channing Tatum. On top of that, Chris Evans is officially back as Steve Rogers, and industry reports indicate Hayley Atwell and Ryan Reynolds will appear as Peggy Carter and Deadpool.
Directing duties fall to Russo Bros., working from a script by Stephen McFeely, with additional writing from Michael Waldron.
Avengers: Doomsday hits theaters on December 18, 2026, with Avengers: Secret Wars following on December 17, 2027.
