AVENGERS: ENDGAME Officially Surpasses AVATAR For Highest Grossing Film of All Time

What a weekend for Marvel! We got to see the President of Marvel, Kevin Feige, roll out the plan for the next two years in the MCU, we saw all the stars, heard all the info they were willing to give, and honestly it was so overwhelmingly incredible. There is so much amazing content coming our way the next few years! It’s a great and exciting time to be Kevin Feige! But now he has one more major accomplishment under his belt that makes this weekend even more celebratory!

This weekend makes it official that Avengers: Endgame has surpassed James Cameron’s long-standing Avatar (2009) for the title of highest-grossing film in history. The Russo Brothers, who directed Endgame, commented on the creeping total and it’s impending ramifications during their panel on Friday, and said that Cameron is an idol of theirs. They said they’re so happy to see their film reach global audiences and be received the way it was.

I love the entire Infinity saga, and was so happy with Avengers: Endgame. I love that it turned out to be as huge as it did. I didn’t really care about Avatar so much when it came out, so even though Feige said the Avatar sequels will probably bump them out again, I hope Endgame gets to hold on to the title a little longer than that.

What was your favorite film? Avatar, or Avengers: Endgame?
