AVENGERS: ENDGAME Screenwriters Reveal The Surprising Character They Tried To Include But Was Shot Down

If you saw Avengers: Endgame, then you know that it was packed full of characters! You’d think that there is no way that they could have fit any other other characters in that movie, but, screenwriters Christopher Markus and Stephen McFeely totally did in one of their early scripts!

While talking to The New York Times, they were asked if there were any other Marvel characters that they tried to pack into the movie and they revealed that Living Tribunal originally popped up in the epic final battle! The inclusion of the character was shot down, though, by the powers that be. Markus said:

"We did try to put the Living Tribunal in the first movie. We wrote a scene in which he appeared during the Titan fight. And everyone was like, 'What?'"

McFeely added:

"He’s got three heads. It would indicate a whole different level of architecture to the universe and I think that was too much to just throw in."

It would have been awesome to see Living Tribunal show up in the MCU, but it makes sense that they wouldn’t include him in this movie. He is a cosmic character that is one of the more powerful entities in the Marvel Universe. The screenwriters initially wanted to introduce him in Infinity War. If you’re not familiar with the character:

The Living Tribunal is a single entity existing across the entire Marvel Multiverse. He is the Judge of the Marvel Multiverse and the arbitrator of cosmic justice. He is above the likes of the Celestials, Galactus, Eternity, Death and Infinity. The Living Tribunal doesn't have his own free will, as he serves the will of the creator of the Marvel Multiverse, The One Above All.

While that character didn’t make it into Infinity War or Endgame, there’s still a chance that he could show up at some point in the future of the MCU especially with movie like The Eternals and Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 in the works.

What do you think about Living Tribunal joining the MCU? Are there any other Marvel cosmic characters you’d like to see join the MCU?
