AVENGERS: INFINITY WAR Director Discusses the Power and Use of the Infinity Stones

Time, Reality, Space, Soul, Power, and Mind. With your powers combined, I am Captain Thanos! Or not. Wouldn't that be a trip? They get all the Infinity Stones together and it summons Captain Planet. Hoo-wee. But seriously, what makes any stone different than the other. Don't they all just destroy the world or whatever? Well luckily, Joe Russo, co-director of Avengers: Infinity War, recently talked a bit about how the stones will be used.

He explained how each Infinity Stone needed to be special and unique and he particularly teases the plans for the Reality Stone.

"Each gem has its own special power. We had to put a lot of thought into how we would represent those powers so it was clear to the audience. Not only are you dealing with a lot of characters, you are also dealing with the stones, the gems, and there’s a lot of them. So for people to keep track of all of it, we had to get really specific. I won’t divulge how we use the Reality Stone, but we do use it."

Very interesting. So they have to get specific on how they use it, but still want to make sure they are incredibly powerful. I'm pumped to see how the Reality Stone is used. We never got to see its full potential in Thor 2. What we do know, is it's very "venom" like. It saps the life force of its user but has immense power. According to Odin, it changes matter into dark matter. But what is dark matter in the MCU and how is it used? We know it's got to be powerful, though, because Malekith planned on using it to make the whole universe dark.

What sort of plans will Thanos have for it though? We'll have to just wait til the film comes out.
