AVENGERS: INFINITY WAR "Transcends The Genre" and The Guardians Are Supporting Characters

Marvel fans are expecting big things from Avengers: Infinity War. After all, Marvel Studios has been leading up to it over the past ten years! After these Avengers films, the MCU will never be the same again. Marvel President Kevin Feige has previously said that the MCU will be a very different and new thing.

Marvel Studios has done something that no other studio has ever done before, and when it gets to the end, fans are expecting to see things that they've never seen before. During a recent interview with Toronto Sun, Chris Pratt teased what we can expect and he says that it's going to transcend the genre and stand the test of time:

"I think this sequel transcends the genre in a way. It’s a deep motion picture and something different than just a big spectacle film. There’s a difference between dime-store novels and literature and this is like literature. It’s going to stand the test of time. It’s maybe this decade’s movie, if not a longer period of time."

That's a pretty bold statement, one that is sure to get Marvel fans even more excited for what's to come. When you read something like that, it's hard to imagine what Marvel is actually planning.

In a separate interview with Nerdist, Pratt goes on to reveal that the Guardians of the Galaxy team will only be supporting characters in Infinity War, saying:

"We definitely will have a strong presence, but we are playing supporting cast – you know what I mean? We’re there to help them tell an awesome Infinity War story. But Guardians is cosmic. It is its own special off-shoot of the Marvel Cinematic Universe."

I think most of the fans assumed that would be the case. After all, it is an Avengers movie! I'm sure they'll be in it enough to make fans happy. I'm also confident that we'll see them in an epic battle against Thanos and his minions.

Avengers: Infinity War is set to be released on May 4, 2018.
