AVENGERS: INFINITY WAR Writers Explain That AVENGERS 4 Doesn't Do What You Think It Does

Before we jump into this interview with the writers of Avengers: Infinity War, which may shock some of you, if you haven't seen the movie yet:

At the end of Avengers: Infinity War Thanos collected all of the Infinity Stones and snapped his fingers obliterating half of the universe including several of our favorite characters like Spider-Man, Bucky Barnes, Black Panther, Star-Lord, Groot, Drax, Gamora, Vision, Doctor Strange, and Scarlet Witch. It was utterly heart-breaking.

A lot of fans don't seem to feel the sting of those deaths though, because they believe Avengers 4 will fix everything and these characters are coming back. You might want to disregard those thoughts though because in an interview with Buzzfeed, writers Christopher Markus and Stephen McFeely, they say that Avengers 4 doesn't do what you think it does. They also confirm that the deaths are real. Markus says:

"[Avengers 4] doesn’t do what you think it does. It is a different movie than you think it is."

If that doesn't strike fear in your heart, he goes on to talk about the deaths we witnessed:

"Also…[the deaths are] real. I just want to tell you it’s real, and the sooner you accept that, the sooner you will be able to move on to the next stage of grief."

McFeeky adds:

"We’re going to own these choices, and hopefully surprise and delight you and get you invested."

This could be misdirection, but I think that Marvel Studios is smarter than that. They know that most of the fans are expecting to see many of these characters brought back to life somehow. I just think that they are going to do something completely unexpected. Markus then added:

"We broke your heart. Now we’re going to blow your mind!"

Wow! Ok. Well, I can't wait to see how they end up doing that! When you read something like that, it's hard to tell what they might be planning. So the question I have for you is... what could Marvel do at this point that would actually blow your mind!?
