AVENGERS: SECRET WARS Rumor Teases Crazy X-Men Returns Fans Didn’t Expect
The Multiverse Saga is already shaping up to go completely off the rails, and a new rumor about Avengers: Secret Wars is tossing even more fuel on the fire. It includes a lineup so unexpected that it pulls characters back into the spotlight that most fans assumed were long gone.
We already know a large chunk of the original X-Men cast from the Fox era is expected to show up in Avengers: Doomsday, but now insider MTTSH claims that X-Men: First Class stars could also make their way into Secret Wars.
That includes James McAvoy as Charles Xavier, Michael Fassbender as Magneto, Jennifer Lawrence as Mystique, and Nicholas Hoult as Beast. If that actually happens it adds a twist few were really expecting.
Up until now, it sounded like Doomsday would act as a farewell tour for the original X-Men team that started with Bryan Singer’s first film.
The assumption was that Marvel would wrap up that era, clear the board, and move forward with a fresh MCU version of the mutants. But this new rumor suggests Marvel might not be done celebrating that legacy just yet.
Even if these characters only pop in for brief moments, it’s hard to imagine actors of this caliber returning without something worthwhile attached. These aren’t throwaway cameos. If they’re coming back, there’s probably a good reason.
Secret Wars is sure to be a full-blown cinematic event that pulls from every corner of Marvel’s past and present. The idea of seeing multiple generations of X-Men sharing the screen with Earth’s Mightiest Heroes is kind of crazy, but it’s just a rumor for now, and there’s a chance these characters won’t show up at all.
Avengers: Doomsday is set to hit theaters on December 18, 2026, while Secret Wars is scheduled to follow on December 17, 2027.
