Awe-Inspiring Fantasy Short AMBITION with GAME OF THRONES Star Aiden Gillen

Game of Thrones actor Aiden Gillen stars in this fascinating fantasy short film called "Ambition." In it he plays a master magician who is giving a lesson to his apprentice. As he does this, he transforms a wasteland of dust and rock into planets, asteroids, satellites, and other objects as they revolve around the sun. The short is beautiful and entrancing, and the visuals are awesome. After watching it, I kind of think Gillen would make an amazing Doctor Strange. He definitely proves that he has what it takes in this amazing short. 

"Ambition" was made in collaboration with the European Space Agency, and it serves as a tribute to how contemporary space exploration is crucial to searching for clues to our own origins. When commenting on the film, author Alastair Reynolds said, "As a science fiction writer, it's hard to think of a more stirring theme than the origin and ultimate destiny of life in the universe."

The film was directed by Oscar-nominated filmmaker Tomek Bagiński, who shot the film on location in Iceland. It premiered at the British Film Institute’s Sci-Fi: Days of Fear and Wonder festival in London.

Directed by Tomek Bagiński and starring Aiden Gillen and Aisling Franciosi, Ambition was shot on location in Iceland, and screened on 24 October 2014 during the British Film Institute's celebration of Sci-Fi: Days of Fear and Wonder, at the Southbank, London.
