Awesome New Trailer Released For The Chinese Sci-Fi Epic THE WANDERING EARTH
Last week it was announced that Netflix had picked up the rights to a crazy epic sci-fi film from China called The Wandering Earth. I had a chance to see this movie on the big screen last week, and while it was completely ridiculous, it was so much fun to watch! This is a crazy ambitious and unique project that is worth watching.
Hell, the movie made over $600 million in the first fourteen days of being released! That’s a pretty incredible feat! The film is an adaptation of the 2000 novella of the same name written by Liu Cixin, and this is the synopsis:
The sun is dying out. The earth will soon be engulfed by the inflating sun. To save the human civilization, scientists draw up an escape plan that will bring the whole human race from danger. With the help of thousands of infusion powered engines, the planet earth will leave the solar system and embark on a 2,500 year journey to the orbit of a star 4.5 light years away.
As you might imagine, a movie like this has some awesome visuals and looks stunning. There’s just so much wonderfully fun eye candy.
The Wandering Earth was directed and written by Frant Gwo, and the cast includes Qu Chuxiao, Li Guangjie, Ng Man-tat and Zhao Jinmai, with a special appearance by Wu Jing. Check out the new trailer below and let us know if you’re looking forward to watching it!
