Badass Trailer for the Anime Adaptation of ALL YOU NEED IS KILL; The Same Story as EDGE OF TOMORROW
Warner Bros Japan has released the an awesome teaser trailer for an anime adaptation of the classic time loop novel All You Need is Kill. This is the same novel that Tom Cruise’s Edge of Tomorrow movie was adapted from.
In the new film, “After an unidentified plant from outer space invasion, Rita finds herself trapped in a time loop, forced to relive the same day over & over again. With each loop, she learns. She fights. Her memories & experiences sharpen her skills, turning her into a formidable warrior.
“Yet, the endless cycle of death & solitude begins to wear her down. Then, she meets Keiji. ‘I've been repeating this day too,’ he says to her. Two lost souls, trapped in an endless war. Could their meeting change fate?”
Director Kenichiro Akimoto said in a statement: "I am honored to be involved in the adaptation of this wonderful novel into an animated film. In the process of animateng this manga and Hollywood movie, I hope that the value of this work can be further enhanced with the video expression that is typical of STUDIO4°C. And I hope that people who have seen it will find a little hope of living in the daily life that repeats."
So, while we may not be getting a sequel to Edge of Tomorrow anytime soon, we’ve got this anime coming and it looks pretty damn badass! I’m excited as hell to watch this thing!
The film is a Hiroshi Sakurazaka production with animation by STUDIO4°C in Japan. All You Need is Kill is currently set to open in Japan later in 2025.
