AXIS & ALLIES Returns Under Renegade Game Studios with Limited Edition of AXIS & ALLIES: WWI 1914
Axis & Allies is a 42-year-old wargaming franchise, and Renegade Game Studios is going to be bringing it back soon. The team recently announced a limited printing of Axis & Allies: WWI 1914. In the game, you will be battling through the no-man’s-lands of Europe in “carefully-considered and determined offensives.” This updated release is the first offering of Axis & Allies under Renegade who are already planning on future re-releases (join the Officer’s Club to participate in polls and influence which titles are brought back). Renegade’s printing of WWI 1914 will include past errata and updates with additional German (4) and British (2) infantry figures along with 20 extra plastic chips for an improved gameplay experience, “but will otherwise be the same great game gamers have loved for years.”
The world is at war!
With the assassination of the Archduke Franz Ferdinand of Austria by a Serbian nationalist in Sarajevo, a fuse is lit and the armies of Europe, and soon the entire world, will be on the march. This war will be like no other ever fought in human history. With the introduction of machine guns, flying machines, tanks and chemical weapons, casualties will be measured in the millions, and advances against the enemy measured in yards. Eight major powers struggle for supremacy. The Central Powers of Germany, the Austro-Hungarian Empire, and the Ottoman Empire are aligned against the great alliance of France, the British Empire, the Russian Empire, Italy, and eventually the United States.
Talking about bringing WWI 1914 back, Dan Bojanowski of Renegade said:
Axis & Allies WWI 1914 was a game that we knew that we had to bring back. In order to do it justice we worked with community expert Kevin Chapman (known as "Krieghund" on various forums) to make updates to the rules based on past errata and clarifications. Designer Larry Harris also suggested adding in some extra copies of units and chips as quality-of-life improvements for the early game, which we were happy to do!
You can pre-order WWI 1914 from Renegade for $100. It is set to launch at GenCon and then in August at game and specialty stores worldwide. Are you excited for the revival of Axis & Allies?
