Azula May Get a Chance at Redemption in New Graphic Novel AVATAR: THE LAST AIRBENDER—AZULA IN THE SPIRIT TEMPLE
Dark Horse Books and Avatar Studios recently announced a new graphic novel for the beloved franchise Avatar: The Last Airbender. The new graphic novel is titled Avatar: The Last Airbender—Azula in the Spirit Temple and will follow the crazy firebender as she tries to destabilize the Fire Nation. The synopsis also teases a chance for Azula to redeem herself. That should be interesting. The story comes from a team consisting of Faith Erin Hicks, Peter Wartman, and Adele Matera. Letters for Azula in the Spirit Temple will be done by Jimmy Betancourt.
In this story: Azula continues her destabilization campaign against the Fire Nation and her brother, Fire Lord Zuko. But after a failed attack on her latest target, Azula finds herself in a mysterious forest temple inhabited by a solitary monk. What first seems like a place to safely pass the night is quickly revealed to be something horrifyingly different. Azula is forced to confront her past and will finally face her chance at redemption…but will she take it?
You can read Azula in the Spirit Temple when it hits local bookstores on September 26 or local comic shops on September 27 with pre-orders now open. The main cover is by Wartman and Matera and the graphic novel will have an MSRP of $12.99. Will you be reading it?
