BACK TO THE FUTURE 40th Anniversary Theatrical Rerelease Date with New Trailer and Posters
Great Scott! The iconic 1985 film Back to the Future is heading back to theaters this fall for its 40th anniversary, giving fans the chance to relive one of the greatest sci-fi adventures ever made on the big screen. I have memories of seeing this film in the theaters for the time when I was a kid!
IMAX announced that Back to the Future will return to theaters on October 31, 2025, with special IMAX screenings across the country. Tickets for the event are already available on the official IMAX website, so fans can start planning their trip back to Hill Valley now.
To mark the occasion, IMAX dropped a brand-new trailer and two posters celebrating the film’s milestone anniversary. Both highlight the awesome timeless adventure of Marty McFly and Doc Brown.
Originally released in 1985, the film was directed by Robert Zemeckis and stars Michael J. Fox, Christopher Lloyd, Lea Thompson, Crispin Glover, and Thomas F. Wilson. The story follows Marty McFly, a teenager who accidentally travels back to 1955 in Doc Brown’s DeLorean time machine, where he encounters his teenage parents and must find a way back to the future without changing history.
The legacy of Back to the Future has only grown stronger over the decades. It kicked off one of the most beloved trilogies in film history, with sequels released in 1989 and 1990. The movie has been praised as one of the greatest films ever made and was even added to the National Film Registry by the United States Library of Congress in 2007 for its cultural and historical significance.
This theatrical rerelease is the perfect chance for longtime fans to see the movie in stunning IMAX quality and for a new generation to experience it on the big screen for the first time.
I can’t wiat to experience this film on the big screen again!
