BAG OF HOLDING MONSTERS: ABOVE AND BELOW VERSIONS Let You Capture New Monsters for DUNGEONS & DRAGONS

I love when people try combining different games. Bag of Holding Monsters: Above and Below Versions is a new unofficial Dungeons & Dragons supplement from Imogen Gingell that has a lot of influences from Pokémon.

The supplement adds 28 new monsters to the game, all themed after different regions in the worlds of Eberron and cross all tiers of play. These monsters have elemental affinities and can be captured in bags of holding thrown by the players. I am surprised to see there aren’t really mechanics talking about two players fighting with their monsters, but I guess you can just use standard D&D combat rules.

Years ago, a travelling academic discovered a strange and hidden layer of Thelanis, a plane steeped in story and expression. Within this Pocket Realm dwelled creature unlike any seen before - monsters that reflected the nations, magic and legends that made up Eberron’s Material Plane. The monsters of the Pocket Realm seemed destined for endless conflict, but the Professor discovered that they could be tamed…and even befriended.

Perhaps most crucially to his research, the Professor discovered that the monsters of the Pocket Realm had an affinity for extraplanar spaces: they could be safely preserved inside his bag of holding.

You can purchase Above and Below Versions from DMs Guild for $3.95.
