Bandai Namco Releases a New Music Video and Theme Song for PAC-MAN to Celebrate 40 Years in 2020
May 2020 will mark 40 years of PAC-MAN. To celebrate, Bandai Namco are planning to pull out all the stops. First on their list was to get Ken Ishii to create a new theme song for everyone’s favorite yellow disc and the accompanying music video was directed by Yuichi Kodama. Some partnerships were teased as well with companies like Champion and TIMEX throughout the year. Chris Gilbert of Bandai Namco said:
“Everyone at BANDAI NAMCO Entertainment is extremely proud and excited to celebrate 40 years of PAC-MAN, not just a video game icon, but a true cultural icon. 2020 will be a monumental year as we celebrate PAC-MAN’s birthday all year long with ground-breaking brand partnerships, a new theme song, and engaging events around the globe.”
