When I was a kid I used to take my Batman and Snake Eyes action figures and imagine up scenarios in which the two characters would fight. Well, the two classic characters will actually be facing off for the first time ever in DC Comics’ Batman/Fortnite: Zero Point #3. This is the third comic in a six-issue series.

In the story, “a crack splits the sky above Gotham City... a tear in reality itself. This rift pulls the Dark Knight into a bizarre and unfamiliar world, with no memory of who he is or where he came from...Batman has been drawn into Fortnite!”

While I’ve always wanted to see these two characters fight each other at some point I wish it wasn’t in a Fortnite-themed comic. But, at the same time, I guess we can thank Fortnite that the crossover is actually happening.

Here’s the synopsis for Batman/Fortnite: Zero Point #3:

In issue #3 of this six-issue limited series from DC and Epic Games, the Dark Knight faces off against the most unexpected adversary yet, Snake-Eyes, from G.I. Joe! You read that right: Snake-Eyes from G.I. Joe! Worlds collide on the Island as the unstoppable ninja goes up against Batman! But can either of them win the fight when neither of them can remember why they’re fighting, nor escape this twisted version of Groundhog’s Day? Will Batman even remember that he’s got to find a way back to Catwoman, all the while trying to figure out how to get back to Gotham City? And just what is Harley Quinn doing here?

The next issue of Batman/Fortnite: Zero Point #3 arrives on May 18, 2021 and there’s a variant cover illustrated by the legendary artist Jim Lee depicting the epic fight between Snake Eyes and Batman.

Batman/Fortnite: Zero Point #3 is written by Christos Gage, pencils by Reilly Brown, with inks by Nelson Faro DeCastro and colors by John Kalisz.
