BATMAN: CAPED CRUSADER Season 2 Finally Gets a Release Window Update

Fans of Batman: Caped Crusader have been waiting for any word on when the Dark Knight would return, and thanks to Hamish Linklater, we finally have a solid update.

Linklater, who voices Batman in the Prime Video animated series, recently revealed that Season 2 is in the works and has a target premiere window.

While speaking to MovieWeb about his role in Gen V Season 2, Linklater was asked about the future of Batman: Caped Crusader. He admitted he didn’t know the exact date but gave fans something to look forward to.

“I don’t know when it’s coming back,” Linklater said of Season 2’s exact release date before adding, “Sometime next year, I think they’ll show it, but yeah, we’ve been working on it.”

That means fans can expect the next chapter of Caped Crusader sometime in 2026.

The series has had quite the journey before even making its debut. Originally developed by Bruce Timm for Max, the streamer dropped the project before it ever saw the light of day. In March 2023, Amazon Prime Video stepped in and picked up the show, committing to two full seasons right out of the gate.

Linklater also had some fun with the long wait, joking about how eager he’s been to get Season 2 out.

“I’m always like, ‘Hey, do you guys need some help with the drawing and stuff like that, you know, I got a set of number two [pencils] over here.’ They’re like, ‘We got this, Hamish, you just do the yap yap,’” the Gen V star stated.

Beyond Linklater’s take on Gotham’s protector, Batman: Caped Crusader also boasts an impressive voice cast that includes Jason Watkins, Eric Morgan Stuart, Krystal Joy Brown, Michelle C. Bonilla, Jamie Chung, and Diedrich Bader.

With its darker tone and creative team led by Timm, the show has already made an impression with fans and now Season 2 is finally on the horizon.
