Batman Hunts Vampires in 1987: BLOOD OF THE BAT Proof of Concept Fan Film
Here’s a fun Batman-inspired horror action proof of concept fan film titled 1987: Blood of the Bat. The movie was written, directed, and produced by James Campbell and it features Batman hunting down vampires in an abandoned building in the dark.
This is said to be an ambitious sequel to Eighties Doubt Productions violent, neon, BATMAN/PUNISHER fan-film 1986.
I really enjoyed this! It’s a shame that we’ll never see Warner Bros. or DC Entertainment attempt to do anything like this as a live-action film. But, the production company behind this concept has launched an IndieGoGo crowdfunding campaign. It comes with the following note:
We always wanted to come back and do another BATMAN fan film - but it would always depend on what type of story we would want to make... we now have one - and we're very excited for you all to see it!
"1986" was a neon, action short film, heavily influenced by John Carpenter and the early works of Michael Mann and James Cameron... as well as an obvious love of Frank Miller's THE DARK KNIGHT RETURNS.
With "1987: BLOOD OF THE BAT" we're going down a darker path with the sole aim of making a kick-ass Horror/Action short film that will hopefully blow people away...
