Batman Proposes To Catwoman in DC Comics

Yeah, you read that right. The Bat is finally ready to move on in his life and get married. Makes total sense right? NO! WRONG!

In issue number 24 of Batman, Bruce Wayne pulled of his Cowl and got down on one knee and proposed to Catwoman. Apparently things have been rough on him, and he really has felt her in his life. Or whatever. If you want the details go read the comic, but I will say this for Wayne, he's got class. He proposed with a ring made from the diamond that Catwoman stole the first time Batman ever met her. Everyone else's marriage proposal suddenly looks like SHITE.

Ok, look, I'm not against having Batman getting married. But you better make this stick. If you are gonna do this DC, don't dick us around. I mean technically he has only proposed. She hasn't even answered yet. It cliffhanged us harder than the old Batman Adam West TV series. Rest in Peace.

If Batman wants to get married and move on with his life, then fine. Spider-Man did it and everything turned out fine. Oh wait, it did until he made a deal with the Devil to pretend it never happened. And when I say deal with the Devil, I mean the literal Devil of the Marvel Universe, Mephisto. But the trouble is this. Comic book characters never change. They don't age. They don't GET to move on with their lives. Hell, most of them can't even stay dead. Which makes me wonder, where will this lead?

Either she just says no at the beginning of the next issue and then Batman goes home and cries for the rest of the issue (just panel after panel of Batman crying watching rom-coms and eating Ice Cream while Alfred tries to console him), or she says yes, and we get the next few issues of them planning the wedding. Or she says yes and someone kills her. Or someone tries to kill her enough times that they feel like they should call it off. She's like "it will never work, the world just doesn't want it to happen". And then we get that sobfest comic I mentioned earlier. Or he gets so pissed he goes on a killing spree. Or we just see them have to go through canceling everything. Having had to cancel a wedding myself, I can tell you it's not very fun.

There's a lot of things that COULD happen. But what most likely won't happen, is them actually getting married. That's not to say I wouldn't like it. I would love to see Batman hang up the cowl and live happily ever after. It would be super cool. Until they decided to undo it, and that's why I don't want it to happen really. I don't want to go through the process of caring and then having my hopes dashed. I'll celebrate after their 10 year anniversary, if it ends up making it that far.
