BATMAN V SUPERMAN - Epic Battle Details and New Promo Photo

Don't worry, there is nothing in this article that will spoil Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice for you. We have a new promo photo for the film to share thanks to JoBlo, and it gives us a slightly different look at Ben Affleck as Batman. There's also an interview with the fight choreographer of the film, Guillermo Grispo, who talks about the epic fight sequence between Batman and Superman that we'll see in the film. This is what he said to Los Andes Diario (via Batman News):

“There’s a thought that Batman has no chance, that the Superman will squash him like a bug. But when you see the movie, and how it all comes out, there’s a very intelligent explanation as to why they would have a firsthand confrontation, though it seems to be totally to Batman’s disadvantage.”

Grispo has worked on over 30 films in his career, including Kick-Ass and Wolverine, but it sounds like Batman v Superman will be his crowning achievement. We know that Batman will be wearing Frank Miller's iconic Dark Knight Returns armor, which is sure to include the Kryptonite-enhanced gloves, but in the end it just might be Bruce Wayne’s mad fighting skills that give him the edge over Superman. Grispo explains:

“Now Batman is going to fight the way I’ve always dreamed seeing him fight. He’s a character so prepared in martial arts that you can do a lot of things with him, but filmmakers usually don’t go all the way with it. Even in the last Nolan movies the action scenes aren’t very good from a technical, martial arts point of view to things like choreography, filming, bad camera movements…”

Oh, damn! He just kind of dissed Christopher Nolan right there. Maybe he has a point, though. He goes on to talk about what Zack Snyder brings to the table as a more action oriented director saying:

“Don’t get me wrong, Nolan is great, my hats off to him… but I think that he did not pay too much attention to the fights. Those are the kind of details that Zack, being so physical himself, loves preparing. I think there’s going to be a big difference when you see these Batman fights in comparison to the previous ones.”

We know Snyder is going to bring awesome action and insanely cool visuals, but as I've always said, story is the backbone of any great film. I hope he can bring a great story to Dawn of Justice. Because that, combined with everything else he brings to the table, would be glorious.

The movie stars Henry Cavill, Ben Affleck, Amy Adams, Gal Gadot, Laurence Fishburne, Diane Lane, Jesse Eisenberg, Jeremy Irons, Jena Malone, Holly Hunter, and Scoot McNairy. It hits theaters on March 25th, 2016.
