BATMAN VS. SUPERMAN Producer on Wonder Woman Role

Zack Snyder will start shooting Batman Vs. Superman early next year, and it seems like all the casting is starting to fall into place. It's going to be interesting to see exactly who else ends up being cast in the film, and what characters they will play.

In a recent interview with M Live (via: Comingsoon), producer Wesley Coller spoke about the highly anticipated sequel, as well as Wonder Woman, who is being played by Gal Gadot. When asked about the character he said,

“[My daughter’s] favorite book is this little Wonder Woman flip book. It has the lasso, the invisible plane, the bracelets – every page has an image she’s just in awe with. And something that’s become a reality, being a dad with a new daughter, is that I have a special place in my heart for the idea of a strong, empowered female superhero being out there.”

When it comes to a possible future spinoff film, Coller says,

“We’re super excited to have her in the film. It will be a ton of fun, but at the same time, we’ve got to stay focused on the film we’re working on now.”

So fans will have to wait a little bit longer before they see a stand alone Wonder Woman movie. The producer then goes on to talk about Ben Affleck as Batman and some of the negative comments surrounding the casting.

“Anything you do that’s culturally significant, or any time you deal with an iconic character or story, you’re going to hear responses from every possible perspective… If anything, that gauges the relevance of a property or character, and it’s invigorating to know people care that much. It inspires you to make the coolest version of the movie that you can. Ben is the perfect fit for Zack’s vision for this story.”

I'm sure Affleck is going to be great as Batman, and it will be fun to see him and Henry Cavill face-off on the big screen. The movie will shoot at Michigan Motion Picture Studios in Pontiac where it will occupy all seven sound stages on the lot in addition to several locations around the state.

The movie will also star Amy Adams, Diane Lane, and Laurence Fishburne. Then there's Joaquin Phoenix who is rumored to be up for a major role. The film is set for release on July 27th, 2015.
