Battle Cat Could Look Like This in Live-Action HE-MAN Movie
It's been awhile since we've had any news on the He-Man and the Masters of the Universe live-action film that has been in and out of development for years. The last thing we heard was that the most recent script for the film was completed by Jeff Wadlow (Kick-Ass 2) for Columbia Pictures.
We're not sure what the current status of the movie is, but an interesting image has hit the internet, and it was posted on twitter by Senior VP of Production at Sony/Columbia Pictures DeVon Franklin. As you can see, it shows us what He-Man's Battle Cat could look like in his live-action form, and it's incredibly badass.
It seems kind of strange that a high-ranking studio executive would post something like this. The producer was asked for an update on the film, and he replied with:
"Will know more soon. New chairman at sony, gotta get in sync with the studio. As soon as I know I'll report back."
That was followed by the following comment from a fan:
"If @Guardians can make 700 million plus at worldwide box office no reason #MastersOfTheUniverse can't do same."
Franklin then posted the image of Battle Cat with a caption reading, "I totally agree!!!" After that he didn't confirm or deny that this was an actual teaser photo from the film. So it could be some concept art, or it could be a fan-made image that he just posted to get the fans excited.
Whatever the story behind the image is, the design is freakin' awesome, and it's an amazing look for the character in a movie. All I can say at this point is that I hope it's real! What do you think of the character design?
