BBC’s adaptation of Philip Pullman’s His Dark Materials books hasn’t released its first season yet. That’s not stopping BBC from already doubling the number of episodes it gets. The series is getting 8 more episodes as a second season. The series just started filming and it already has a second season lined up! That’s great news! Hopefully, this allows the story to breathe more as the books can now each be spread across more than 2 or 3 episodes. I am getting so excited for this series to be out. Will they get a third and just give each book its own season? I’d rather a season each for the first two books and then 2 seasons for The Amber Spyglass. That book has a lot going on in it.

His Dark Materials will star Dafne Keen, James McAvoy, Ruth Wilson, Clarke Peters, Lin-Manuel Miranda, Georgina Campbell, Anne-Marie Duff, Ian Gelder, and Will Keen. Tom Hooper is directing with Jack Thorne serving as writer.
