Beautiful and Touching Trailer For Drama Feature THE SALT PATH Starring Gillian Anderson & Jason Isaacs
A beautiful and touching trailer has been released for the drama The Salt Path, starring Gillian Anderson (The X-Files, Sex Education) and Jason Isaacs (Harry Potter, The OA).
The film was made by theatre director Marianne Elliott, in her feature film debut after a few filmed productions of theater shows including War Horse (2014), Angels in America (2017), and Alan Bennett's Talking Heads.
The screenplay is written by Rebecca Lenkiewicz, adapted from Raynor Winn's memoir, "A Salt Path." The synopsis reads:
“A married couple (Gillian Anderson & Jason Isaacs) receive a bad health diagnosis and are left homeless after legal trouble, so they embark upon the 630-mile (1010 km) South West Coast Path – the longest uninterrupted path in England, from Minehead to Poole around the coast of Devon, Cornwall, and Dorset.”
The Salt Path looks like such a beautifully told story, and reminds me of the adapted memoir Wild, which I also loved. There must be something to losing everything and getting out there in nature to reground you.
I just put this audiobook on my library wish list, and I look forward to seeing it on the big screen. The film will debut in the UK in early 2025. No US release date has been set yet, so stay tuned.
