Beautiful Full Trailer for Pablo Larraín's MARIA Starring Angelina Jolie in What's Being Called a Career-Defining Performance

A full trailer has been released for director Pablo Larraín's (Jackie, Spencer) upcoming biopic Maria, starring Angelina Jolie as the beloved opera singer Maria Callas.

The film has made stops at each of the biggest film festivals to rave review, and it is being hailed as a career-defining performance for Jolie. The film also stars Pierfrancesco Favino, Alba Rohrwacher, Valeria Golino, Kodi Smit-McPhee, and Haluk Bilginer. The screenplay is written by Steven Knight.

The film’s synopsis reads: “Oscar-winner Angelina Jolie is Maria Callas – one of the most iconic performers of the 20th century in Pablo Larrain's operatic Maria.

“The story follows the American-Greek soprano as she retreats to Paris after a glamorous and tumultuous life in the public eye. Maria reimagines the legendary soprano in her final days as the diva reckons with her identity and life.”

This looks like a beautifully shot movie, with an award-worthy performance from Jolie. Check out the trailer below, and watch Maria in select US theatres on November 27th, then on Netflix on December 11th.
