Beautiful Trailer for Netflix's Heartwarming Music Drama I USED TO BE FAMOUS

A beautiful trailer has been released for Netflix’s original music drama feature, I Used to Be Famous. The film stars Ed Skrein (Deadpool, Alita: Battle Angel) as a former boy-band star who is trying to make it on his own as a solo musician. While performing as a street musician, he meets a teen with autism (Leo Long), who starts drumming to the music he’s playing, and they start a journey to make music and discover more about themselves and each other than ever before.

They are joined in the cast by Lorraine Ashbourne, Eleanor Matsuura, Neil Stuke, Jamie Wannell, Stanley Morgan, and Eoin Macken. The film is directed by Eddie Sternberg in his feature directorial debut, from a script he co-wrote with Zak Klein.

Here’s the full synopsis:

Vince (Ed Skrein) used to be in the hottest boy band around. Now he’s alone and desperate. An impromptu jam with Stevie (Leo Long), an autistic drummer with an incredible gift for rhythm, sparks an unexpected friendship. Together they form a unique bond through the power of music.

This looks like a really solid story, and I love that the character with autism is played by a neurodiverse actor. I have a kid with autism, and it’s awesome to see more stories about people on the spectrum. I am looking forward to watching this movie when it comes to Netflix on September 16th.
