Beautifully Heartbreaking Trailer for Mother-Daughter Drama TUESDAY Starring Julia Louis-Dreyfus

A trailer has been released by A24 for their emotional drama Tuesday, about a mother named Zora, played by Julia Louis-Drefus (Seinfeld) and her daughter, Tuesday, played by Lola Petticrew (Dating Amber, She Said). The film is written and directed by Daina Oniunas-Pusic, in her feature debut. The film also stars Arinzé Kene (EastEnders) as the voice of Death, Leah Harvey as Nurse Billie, Ellie James as Willow, Taru Devani as Ira, David Sibley as Robert, Justin Edwards as Jack, and Jay Simpson as Spike.

The synopsis for the film reads:

“A mother (Louis-Dreyfus, in a profoundly moving performance) and her teenage daughter must confront Death when it arrives in the form of an astonishing talking bird. The film is a heart-rending fairy tale about the echoes of loss and finding resilience in the unexpected.”

Tuesday is written and directed by Daina O. Pusić in her feature directorial debut.

Movies like this make me cry all the time, but I can’t say I have ever cried so hard just watching a trailer. This looks like it’s going to just be heart-wrenching, but also a beautiful story with wonderful performances. Tuesday had its world premiere at the 2023 Telluride Film Festival. It is expected to debut later this year. Check out the trailer below, and stay tuned for a release date.
