Become an Owlbear Monk in D&D with WAY OF THE OWLBEAR
Jeff C. Stevens has an interesting new unofficial Dungeons & Dragons supplement called Way of the Owlbear. As you may have guessed, this is a subclass for a Monk, and it’s really cool. The idea is that your Monk has learned to fight like an owlbear and, eventually, may even become an owlbear. When you pick the subclass, you gain darkvision or add onto your pre-existing darkvision. As you level up, you can temporarily gain features of the owlbear like claws or feathers. Then, at level 17, you can choose to permanently change your race to become an owlbear. It’s quite a trip and something very fun for these weird times as people are playing more and more one-shots.
Monks of the Way of Owlbear revere the mighty beast, practicing ancient traditions which slowly transform them, giving them physical aspects of the owlbear. The traditions are passed from generation to generation, as the bonds of family are strong with owlbears.
While many practitioners of this tradition study it in their natural racial form, some choose to follow the teachings to its end, permanently transforming into an owlbear.
You can purchase Way of the Owlbear from DMs Guild for any price you want.
