Behind-The-Scenes Video Explores The Making of the Classic 1987 Horror Film THE GATE
The 1987 horror film, The Gate, is one of my favorite horror films. I watched this movie several times when I was a kid. My grandpa took me to see this at the local Dollar Theater several times and I loved it every time. It left a lasting impression on me and I still enjoy watching it!
Anyway, I recently came across a behind-the-scenes making of video for the film that I’ve never watched before for some reason. It features director Tibor Takács talking about the film along with special effects artist Randy Cook and more offering lots of interesting insight that fans of the film will appreciate.
The story revolves around a young boy, Glen, and his friend, Terry, who accidentally unearths a mysterious, otherworldly hole in Glen's backyard. Upon discovering an old geode and reading incantations, the boys inadvertently release a horde of small, malevolent creatures from the hole.
As the creatures wreak havoc and attempt to unleash even more powerful demons, Glen, Terry, and Glen's sister, Al, must come together to close the gate and prevent the ultimate evil from emerging.
If you’ve never watched The Gate before, you’ve got to check it out!
