Beloved Iconic Actress and Comedian Betty White Passes Away at 99

Betty White, the legendary beloved actress and comedian, has passed away at 99-years-old. She was only weeks away from her 100th birthday. It’s being reported that she died of natural causes just before 9:30 AM Friday.

Betty White brought a lot of joy into lives of people through the projects that she starred in. White has been entertaining people since 1939! That’s over eight decades! She has one hell of a trailblazing career.

White is probably best known for her role as Rose Nylund in The Golden Girls sitcom series which ran from 1985 to 1992. But, she’s been a ton of other projects over the years. She has 115 acting credits and some of those projects include appearances in Blondie, The Great Gildersleeve, and This is Your FBI in the 40s.

She also worked on a variety TV show in 1949 alled "Hollywood on Television" ,which she later co-hosted. Not long after that she landed more TV roles. She made her breakout comedic role came in 1973 in The Mary Tyler Moore Show where she played Sue Ann Nivens. When her run with that ended in 1977, she landed the starring role in The Betty White Show.

White also was a part of productions such as Life with Elizabeth, Date with the Angels, The Love Boat, Mama's Family, The Golden Palace, Ladies Man, That '70s Show, Higglytown Heroes, Boston Legal, The Bold and the Beautiful, Pound Puppies, You Again, The Proposal, Community, Hot in Cleveland, SpongeBob Squarepants, Toy Story 4, and more.

White won five Primetime Emmy Awards over the course of her career including two for Mary Tyler Moore, one for Golden Girls and one for her 1975 SNL appearance. One op of that she has also been honored with several Lifetime Achievement Awards and celebrations.

Betty White made headlines this week when in an interview with People she said, "I've heard Ryan [Reynolds] can't get over his thing for me". Reynolds jokingly responded on Twitter ... "I'm absolutely sick of the media exploiting past relationships just to drive clicks."

Betty White left behind an incredible legacy of projects that continue to entertain fans and audiences. She will be missed but always loved and remembered. Our hearts and thoughts go out to her family and friends.
