Ben Affleck Doesn't Seem Sure About Signing On For THE BATMAN and is Looking For a Graceful Way Out

It seems like Ben Affleck's attitude toward playing Batman has changed since the excited comments he made at Comic-Con earlier this year. Remember when he said:

"I am the luckiest guy in the world. Batman is the coolest part in any universe, Marvel DC, anything–I’m so thrilled to do it. Its fucking amazing. I still can’t believe it. Everyone at the studio tells me I’m their Batman and I believe it. And Matt Reeves? I’d be an ape on the ground for Matt Reeves. Im blown away and its an exciting time in the DC Universe. I’m excited to be Batman."

His tune has changed. During a recent interview with USA Today, Affleck said that Matt Reeves' Batman movie is "something I’m contemplating," which a seems like a sign that maybe he's not sure if he wants to do it or not. Maybe it all depends on how well Justice league is received. He goes on to reveal that he's already trying to figure out a way to bow out saying:

"You don’t do it forever, so I want to find a graceful and cool way to segue out of it."

I hope that he does decide to jump on board Matt Reeves The Batman. I have actually enjoyed Ben Affleck in the role of Batman and I'd love to see Reeves work with him on his detective noir vision for the film. It'd be a shame if he ended up dropping out.

He goes on to express his excitement about Justice League and how it's a movie coming out at a time when the world needs heroes.

"We certainly are in need of heroes in 2017. There’s a lot of stuff going on in the world, from natural to man-made disasters, and it’s really scary. Part of the appeal of this is wish fulfillment: Wouldn’t it be nice if there was somebody who can save us from all this, save us from ourselves, save us from the consequences of our actions and save us from people who are evil?"

What do you think Affleck should do? Should he stay or should a go? Justice League opens in theaters on November 17, 2017.
