Ben Affleck Set To Direct KEEPER OF THE LOST CITIES For Disney
Ben Affleck has found a new directing gig and this time it’s at Disney! He is set to helm a live-action adaptation of the bestselling book series Keeper of the Lost Cities by Shannon Messenger. Affleck will also produce the film through his Pearl Street banner as well as adapt the script with Kate Gritmon.
This is going to be a different kind of directing project for Affleck and I’m looking forward to seeing how he handles the material.
The story centers around a telepathic girl who “must figure out why she is the key to her brand-new world before the wrong person finds the answer first. When twelve-year-old Sophie finally discovers where her secret telepathic ability comes from, she learns she’s actually not human, but is from another world that exists side-by-side with ours.”
This book has been a huge hit with audiences and is an award-winning series including Best Young Reader Book of 2020 by Barnes & Noble, it’s a 2020 Goodreads Choice Award semi-finalist, and a California Gold Medal Winner.
