Ben Falcone and Melissa McCarthy Star in Trailer for Netflix Comedy Series GOD'S FAVORITE IDIOT

Netflix has released a trailer for their upcoming comedy series, God’s Favorite Idiot, starring real-life husband and wife Ben Falcone (Bridesmaids) and Melissa McCarthy (Bridesmaids, Tammy). The pair created and wrote the series as well, with Michael McDonald (Brooklyn Nine-Nine) directing. The cast also includes Usman Ally (Veep, A Series of Unfortunate Events), Steve Mallory (Life of the Party, Thunder Force), Chris Sandiford (Ghosts, Moonfall), Ana Scotney (Shortland Street), and Yanic Truesdale, who is reuniting with McCarthy after their run on Gilmore Girls.

Here’s the show’s synopsis:

“Clark Thompson (Falcone) is a mid-level tech support employee, who takes saunas with his dad, Gene (Kevin Dunn), pines after his co-worker Amily (McCarthy), and loves his cats. When he starts to glow, he begins to realize this isn’t an average day at the office and God has bigger plans for him. Clark can’t save mankind by himself, he must gather his flock of mismatched co-workers, his longtime crush Amily and angelic allies to outwit Satan herself (Leslie Bibb). Together, they’re just a bunch of average humans coming together for the greater good because, after all, you can’t save the world alone.”

This looks like a fun and different comedy with a good cast attached. Check out the trailer below, and watch God’s Favorite Idiot on Netflix on June 15th.
