Ben Stiller, Lily James, Stephen Merchant, and More to Join Doug Liman's Comedy Heist Film LOCKDOWN
Director Doug Liman (The Bourne Identity, Mr. and Mrs. Smith, Edge of Tomorrow) is working on casting his upcoming Harrods heist movie, Lockdown, which already has Anne Hathaway and Chiwetel Ejiofor on board. Ben Stiller, Lily James, Stephen Merchant, Dulé Hill, Jazmyn Simon, and Mark Gatiss are all in final talks to join the film as well, creating a pretty exciting ensemble.
Here’s the synopsis from Deadline:
Set against the backdrop of the Covid-19 lockdown, the film will tell the story of how sparring couple Linda (Hathaway) and Paxton (Ejiofor) call a truce to attempt a high-risk, high-stakes jewellery heist at one of the world’s most exclusive department store, Harrods. The iconic London landmark is granting its glamorous backdrop to the shoot.
Liman is directing from a script written by Steven Knight, who wrote Eastern Promises, Locke, and Serenity. Lockdown has begun shooting at the famed London store, and is set for a 90 day shoot, hopefully bringing the film to viewers in 2021. Does this sound like a movie you’ll be excited to see?
