Ben Stiller Reveals The Original Super Dark Ending For ZOOLANDER
Ben Stiller’s Zoolander is a pretty hilarious comedy, but the original ending for the film was pretty damn dark. Stiller revealed the alternate ending during an interview with Esquire, and it would have seen Derek Zoolander facing down a bullet train on the track. He says:
"He has to shoot the 'Blue Steel' or 'Magnum' look at the train to stop it, and it doesn't work. The train plows and kills him, basically, and then he goes up to heaven."
The studio obviously didn't find Derek Zoolander being plowed down by a train very funny, so they opted for a happier ending instead.
The ending we saw featured a ninja star of sorts being thrown at the Prime Minister of Malaysia in an attempt to kill him. Derek ends up stopping the ninja while it is flying in mid air with his famous 'Magnum' look.
The movie then ends with the model opening The Derek Zoolander Center for Kids Who Can't Read Good and Who Wanna Learn to Do Other Stuff Good Too, and has a kid with Christine Taylor's Matilda.
Zoolander co-starred Owen Wilson as Hansel, and Will Ferrell as the villain Jacobim Mugatu, David Bowie, Billy Zane, Milla Jovovich, Vince Vaughn, David Duchovny, Jerry Stiller, Patton Oswalt, Alexander Skarsgård, and Jennifer Coolidge.
