Ben Wheatley and Tom Hiddleston to Reteam for Frank Miller's HARD BOILED

Director Ben Wheatley is attached to direct a feature film adaptation of Frank Miller and Geof Darrow's action-packed comic book Hard Boiled for Warner Bros. Wheatley is the crazy director who previously brought us films such as Kill List, Sightseers, and High Rise. According to Deadline, he is looking to team back up with his High Rise star Tom Hiddleston for the project.

Hard Boiled was originally published in 1990, and the story focuses on insurance investigator Carl Seltz, who is "a suburban insurance investigator, a loving husband, and devoted father," who learns that he’s really a homicidal cyborg tax collector codenamed Nixon. Nixon is "a berserk, homicidal tax collector racking up mind-boggling body counts in a diseased urban slaughterhouse." He has another psychotic entity within him named Unit Four, who is described as a killing machine and the "last hope of the future's enslaved mechanical servants."

This is a wicked cool story, and it's a perfect project for Wheatley to take on. It would be awesome if the studio was able to work out a deal with Hiddleston to star in it. If you've never seen any of Wheatley's films, you should definitely check them out as they are all insane in the greatest of ways. His most recent movie is called Free Fire and looks freakin' badass!
