Ben Whishaw Gives Update Saying He Doesn't Know What's Going on With PADDINGTON 3
Ben Whishaw is known for his roles in Mary Poppins Returns, Fargo, No Time to Die, and most recently Women Talking, but one recurring role that he he loved for is the voice of the adorable stuffed bear Paddington, whose adventures have spanned two popular films. Fans were told there would be a third film in the franchise, but it has been almost six years since the second film came out, and we haven’t heard anything about a Paddington 3, except that it would be called Paddington in Peru.
In a recent interview with Collider while attending Sundance Film Festival, Whishaw was asked if he had an update on the third film, and he said:
“I haven't read this script and I don't even know when we're due to shoot it. I don't know. I thought it would be happening by now, but I don't know. It's gone silent in the way that sometimes these things do. Maybe that just means they're still working on it, or maybe it means it's not happening, or you just don't know.”
Well, that’s not super promising! Paddington and Paddington 2 were really fun movies, with the second film even being in the top favorite films of all time of Pedro Pascal’s character Javi in The Unbearable Weight of Massive Talent. He even convinces Nicolas Cage’s character Nick Cage of this fact in a screening that brought him to tears.
Hopefully it’s just a holdup with the actors or the studio needing to figure out the filming timeline, and we will hear more about the threequel soon!
