Benedict Cumberbatch to Voice THE GRINCH in New Animated Film
Universal Pictures announced at CinemaCon that Benedict Cumberbatch will be providing the voice of The Grinch in Illumination’s new retelling of the classic Dr. Seuss children’s book How The Grinch Stole Christmas.
In case you've been living under a rock since you've been born, the film tells the story of the Grinch, who plots to ruin Christmas for the residents of the village of Whoville. Pete Candel and Yarrow Cheney are directing the movie.
During the presentation, they showed off the character design for the Grinch, one image of which you can see above, and it looks like he stepped right off the page of Seuss' book, only as a digitally rendered character. The movie is set to be released this November, and I'm excited to hear what Cumberbatch does with the voice. He's absolutely perfect for the part!
