Benicio Del Toro in Talks to Play Villain in James Gunn's THE SUIDICE SQUAD

James Gunn’s cast is coming together nicely for The Suicide Squad, as he has found his number one pick for his first villain. Benicio Del Toro (Sicario, Guardians of the Galaxy) is in talks to come on board the film as a villain under the code name “The Mayor.” The only thing we know at this time is that the character is described as an “irascible old warrior who lives for war.”

Another name that’s been thrown around for the role is Antonio Banderas (Once Upon a Time in Mexico, The Expendables 3), so if Del Toro doesn’t pan out, Banderas may end up as the mysterious Mayor.

Whichever guy we end up seeing in the role will join the already cast Margot Robbie, Joel Kinnaman, Idris Elba, David Dastmalchian, John Cena, Jai Courtney, Viola Davis, and Daniela Melchior.
