Benicio del Toro Will Play Swiper in the Live-Action DORA THE EXPLORER Movie
The latest member of the cast of Dora the Explorer has been announced. Benicio del Toro will play Swiper, a fox who constantly swipes things from our heroes. Del Toro is the latest to join the live-action adaptation of the popular Nick Jr. show. This announcement is also very late as the film finished production two weeks ago.
The movie will tell the story of Dora, “a girl who has spent most of her life exploring the jungle with her parents but now must navigate her most dangerous adventure yet: high school. Always the explorer, Dora quickly finds herself leading Boots (her best friend, a monkey), Diego and a rag-tag group of teens on a Goonies-esque adventure to save her parents and solve the impossible mystery behind a lost Inca civilization.”
Del Toro joins the already announced cast of Isabela Moner as Dora, Micke Moreno as Diego, and Adriana Barraza as Abuela Valerie. Eva Longoria and Michael Pena will be playing the role of Dora’s mom and Dad, with Nicholas Coombe, Eugenio Derbez, Madeleine Madden, and Temuera Morrison in undisclosed roles.
Dora the Explorer is directed by James Bobin and will be released August 2, 2019.
