According to a report from The Disinsider, some of the characters from Big Hero 6 will be making their live-action debut in the MCU. There’s no word on which characters will be included, but the report says that we can expect to at least see Baymax and Hiro.
As for what project they might appear in, the report mentions it could be Secret Invasion, Agents of Atlas, or Doctor Strange, but they can’t confirm. With Big Hero 6 being set in San Fransokyo, it seems like it would have to involve some multiverse fun. But nothing has been confirmed. This is all just a big rumor at the moment.
While I thought Disney’s Big Hero 6 was a fun animated flick and I liked the characters, I never really had any interest in seeing them join the MCU. I would have much rather seen the franchise continue with more animated films. But, if Kevin Feige and his Marvel Studios team have come up with a cool and creative way to utilize them in the MCU, I’m open to it!
Big Hero 6 was loosely based on the comic of the same name created by writer Scott Lobdell and artist Gus Vasquez. There was also an animated series that just ended its run last week that you can watch on Disney+ right now.
What do you think about some of the Big Hero 6 characters possibly coming to the MCU?
