Bill Clinton's Novel THE PRESIDENT IS MISSING is Getting a Series Adaptation at Showtime

Showtime has acquired the rights to Bill Clinton and James Patterson's upcoming novel The President is Missing and they will adapt it into a TV series. This actually sounds like it could be a pretty awesome series.

The story will center around "a sitting U.S. president’s disappearance, with the level of detail that only someone who has held the office can know." The fact that Clinton is involved with this whole thing is cool, especially with his first-hand knowledge of being a President implemented into the story.

Showtime Network president and CEO David Nevins had this to say in a statement:

“Bringing The President Is Missing to Showtime is a coup of the highest order. The pairing of President Clinton with fiction’s most gripping storyteller promises a kinetic experience, one that the book world has salivated over for months and that now will dovetail perfectly into a politically relevant, character-based action series for our network.”

Clinton added:

“I’m really enjoying writing this book and working with Jim. And I can’t wait to see Showtime bring the characters to life.”

Patterson then went on to say:

“The White House is such an exciting world to explore and is made even more so with the unique insights of a former President. Rich storytelling opportunities for this series abound.”

The book is set to be published in June of 2018. I'm interested in seeing what kind of creative talent they bring on to develop the series and see how it turns out.
