Bill Maher Is Back to Say Comic Book Culture Is "a Dumb F**cking Culture" and Fans Getting Upset Proves His Point

Bill Maher recently appeared on Larry King Now and was asked about the controversy he stirred up with his recent comments about Stan Lee and comic book culture.

As you know, Maher came under fire from celebrities, comic book writers, authors, artists, and fans for his disrespectful remarks about adult comic book fans and Stan Lee just days after he died.

POW! Entertainment responded with a statement in which they branded Maher's comments "disgusting," but during a recent interview, the HBO host said that he was unaware of what people were saying about him because he "doesn't follow every stupid thing people lose their shit about" on social media.

He then went on to double down on his previous comments, saying:

"But talk about making my point for me: Yeah, I don't know very much about Stan Lee and it certainly wasn't a swipe at Stan Lee.”

At this point, King interjected to say, "You would have liked him. He was a really nice guy." Maher brushed it off and said:

"Yeah, fine. I am agnostic on Stan Lee. I don't read comic books. I didn't even read them when I was a child. What I was saying is, a culture that thinks that comic books and comic book movies are profound meditations on the human condition is a dumb fucking culture. And for people to get mad at that just proves my point."

And there ya have it folks. It kinda make me sad for him that he missed out on so much greatness in his life.

In the end, since he has never read a comic book in his life, he has no idea what he’s missing, he’s ignorant, and even though he has a right to his opinion, it doesn’t really matter because he doesn’t even know what he’s talking about.

Bill Maher discusses a controversial blog post he penned about the late Stan Lee's comic book empire. The 'Real Time' host received backlash after writing, "I don't think it's a huge stretch to suggest that Donald Trump could onlyget elected in a country that thinks comic books are important."
