Bill Murray and Sigourney Weaver Will Return For The Upcoming GHOSTBUSTERS Sequel
We’ve got some big news regarding director Jason Reitman’s upcoming Ghostbusters sequel that fans are going to be very happy about.
Sigourney Weaver has confirmed with Parade Magazine that she will be reprising her role as Dana Barrett in the movie and the report goes on to confirm that Bill Murray and Dan Aykroyd will return to the franchise as well.
“She’s also set to reunite with Bill Murray and Dan Aykroyd in the new Ghostbusters, due July 2020. ‘It’s going to be crazy working with the guys again!’ She won’t reveal any details except to confirm she’s reprising her role as hauntee Dana Barrett.”
As a huge Ghostbusters fan, I was really hoping that the original cast would return, so I’m super happy about this! The movie is set in the same universe as the original two films and it serves as a sequel, so it makes sense that these characters would return.
The film is said to have an Amblin-style feel, and it’s been reported that it will “focus on a family who moves back home to a small town. While there, they begin to ‘learn more about who they are and the secrets of the town itself.’”
The movie also stars Finn Wolfhard, Carrie Coon, and McKenna Grace. I’m sure that we’ll get some more information on the film this weekend during the Ghostbusters Fan Event that is taking pace. So, stay tuned for some new info!
Are you happy to hear that Sigourney Weaver and Bill Murray will be back for the new Ghostbusters movie?
Ghostbusters is slated to hit theaters on July 10th, 2020.
